Back in high school, studious Hitsuji had a secret crush on one of his guy friends--a friendly "bad boy" named Hatoyama--but never confessed. Years later, Hitsuji is now an elementary school teacher who discovers that the father of one of his students is none other than Hatoyama himself! When Hitsuji learns that Hatoyama is a single parent struggling to raise his son, he steps in to teach the sloppy Hatoyama how to clean and cook. Having made the decision to re-open the bakery alone, he visits the cemetery to inform his grandfather. There he sees a strange man who appears to be an undertaker visiting the graves. Later on, when the same man appears taking shelter from the rain outside of his shop, he impulsively invites him in and offers him a room for the night.
